With that in mind, just how many photographers does the slow transfer speed really impact?

A Thunderbolt connection would allow photos to transfer at up to 40Gbps, for example.

Apple is already rumored to be readying a switch to a new cable, possiblyas soon as next year.

But those file sizes are an unfortunate result.

With a faster cable likely to be used in the near future, maybe we could have both.
