“Well, the most compelling aspect of the Mac Pro is its customizability.
It also makes sense toleave the MacBook Air ticking along onthe M2 chip for a while.
The confusion continues withthe Mac Studio.

And it’s possible for you to spec the desktop machine with the double-power M2 Ultra chip.
Then we come to the Mac Pro, a computer that seems utterly unsuited to the Apple Silicon era.
It’s essentially just a Mac Studio in a fancier case, hugely over-provisioned with fans.
So Apple has left itself with a big problem.
It can either change this architecture just to benefit the Mac Pro, a low-volume, high-cost model.
Or it can spend the money to make an absurdly high-end M-series chip.
The current M2 Ultra SoC consists of two M2 Max chips connected together.
Applecould make a version with four M3 Ultras together, but how do you connect them all?
And just how much would it cost?
Apple may surprise us with some new tech for the Mac Pro but don’t hold your breath.
The future seems to be the MacBook Pro, a workstation in your backpack.
