Instructions in this article apply to Macs running OS X Lion (10.7) and later.
You’ll add it through System Preferences or System controls, depending on your macOS operating system version.
Highlight the printer or look for the gadget listed under the Printers list to view its status.

If it says idle or offline, the Mac sees the printer even though it isn’t in use.
You’re all set.
Select theDefaulttab in theAddwindow.

Your printer should appear in the list of printers that are connected to your Mac.
By default, your Mac auto-selects the driver.
If your Mac can find a proper driver for the printer, it displays the driver’s name.

If not, try a generic driver if one is available.
Select a driver from the list and clickOK.
Click theAddbutton to complete the installation.
