What Is an RPT File?
For example, some RPT files are made with the SAP Crystal Reports program.
Another report file format that uses this suffix is made with the AccountEdge Pro software.
These reports might contain anything from accounting and payroll to sales and inventory.
Other RPT files might be plain text files accepted in various reporting applications.
Opening the File
Crystal Reportsis one compatible program.
AccountEdge reports are created by and opened withAccountEdge Pro; it works on Windows and macOS.
Find reports through theReports > Index to Reportsmenu.
Text-based RPT files can be opened with any text editor, like the Notepad program built-in to Windows.
The freeNotepad++tool is another option; plenty of others work similarly.
The AccountEdge Pro software is also able to convert RPT to PDF, as well as toHTML.
This can be done in that program through theQuerymenu, and thenQuery Options>Results>Text.
You might have to then rename the *.RPT file to *.CSV to make it open with Excel.
You’ll need afile conversion toolto convert files between formats.
Still Can’t Open It?
You might not have an RPT file.
Double-check the file extension and ensure it reads “.RPT” and not something similar.
Those formats have nothing to do with reports and will not work with an RPT opener.
You’ll need the program that created the file.
