What Are AIFF, AIF, and AIFC Files?
Files that end in the .AIF or .AIFFfile extensionare Audio Interchange File Format files.
This format was developed by Apple in 1988 and is based on the Interchange file format (.IFF).

Unlike the commonMP3audio format, AIFF and AIF files are uncompressed.
They typically use the AIFC extension.
Some AIF files could instead be information files used by a Symbian app.

These are used by theSymbian OSas needed, so they’re not opened manually.
Apple devices like the iPhone and iPad should be able to play AIFF/AIF files natively without an app.
Both files, with the same name, will appear in your list of songs after the conversion.
Still Can’t bring up the File?
Read the extension again and check that you aren’t mixing it up with another similarly named suffix.
For example,AIT,AIR,AAF, andAFIcould easily be misread as an AIFF or AIF file.
