Why can’t I use my iPad’s amazing, high-resolution 12.9-inch screen as a display for other devices?

Well, now,thanks to iPadOS 17and awhole new emerging categoryof apps, I can.

Just hook them up to the iPad’s Thunderbolt or USB-C port, and you’re off.

It’s as easy as using an external audio equipment with the iPad.

But this cool feature isn’t limited to webcams.

Right now, I know of two apps thatcan enable video display on the iPad.

The first is Genki Studio.

Genki makes portable Switch docks and theGenki Shadowcastvideo capture rig, so it’s a perfect fit.

Genki actually bought the app, which was previously called Capture Pro, andput it in the App Store.

There’s an investment involved.

Orion is a retro-styled app that mimics the style and looks of 1980s monitors.

One more serious use is for photographers in the field.

But now they can use the iPad instead, which they may already have with them.

And all for the price of a dongle and a nice long HDMI cable.
