While some traditional bandwidth tests use Java to do their testing, SpeedOf.Me does not.
It works in all modern browsers, like Chrome, Safari, and Firefox.
Intelligently determines the best testing servers.

Over 100 servers located across six continents.
Share and save results.
Works with both mobile and desktop browsers.
Keeps a history of test results.
Graphics aren’t as attractive as similar sites.
Can’t change the unit displayed in the results (e.g., megabit vs megabyte).
No option to register for an account to keep a longer history of results.
Sharing results doesn’t always work.
My Thoughts on SpeedOf.Me
SpeedOf.Me is extremely easy to use.
It’s as easy as selectingSTART TESTand waiting for the results.
All the work is done behind the scenes.
I also like how the results are displayed.
The download test is performed first, followed by the upload test and finally a latency test.
Not everything about SpeedOf.Me is unicorns and rainbows, though.
This shouldn’t be a determining factor when choosing a good internet speed test site, though.
It’s more just a small annoyance.
