He started out sending stories via dial-up modem while working on the Navajo reservation in New Mexico.
He spent several years as a reporter for United Press International filing stories on a terminal.
Nowadays, he enjoys high-speed WIFI and laptops.

He is a graduate of the Columbia University Graduate School of Journalism’s advanced multimedia storytelling program.
