Change where your files are stored

Files downloaded on yourChromebookare stored in the Downloadsfolder by default.

It’s a convenient and aptly named location for such a task.

Still, you may prefer to save these files elsewhere, such as onGoogle Driveor an external unit.

Chrome in ChromeOS

Open Tote from your Shelf.

SelectMore(thethree vertical dotslocated in the upper-right corner of the internet tool).

On the left menu pane, expandAdvanced.

Next toLocation, selectChange.

Choose the folder you want to save files to, then selectOpen.

When enabled, Chrome prompts you to select a new location each time you download a file.
