In TextEdit, check that the current document mode is set to rich text.
The keyboard shortcut isCommand+Shift+T.
To create a table, selectFormat>Table…from the menu bar.

Enter the number ofrowsandcolumnsyou want in the table.
Select analignmentand specify thecell borderand background color, if any.
bang out the text into the cells of the table.

Highlight the TextEdit list or table you want to use in your email.
Press Command+Cto copy the table.
In the email, position the cursor where you want to insert the list or table.

PressCommand+Vto paste the table into the email.
Continue editing your message in Mail.
