The collapsible headings, automatic transcriptions, and new formatting options are boss!

I have a problem.I’m addicted to note-taking apps.

Maybe it’s my incessant need to keep things organized; I don’t know.

But then I discovered I didn’t miss out completely.

Apple’s built-in notetaking app, Notes, got a nice updatein iOS 18.

It now has new features like audio recordings with live transcriptions, new formatting features, and more.

Highlighting and collapsible sections are just a couple of the new features in Apple Notes.Lifewire / Jerri Ledford

First, it’s possible for you to highlight text.

Then pick the text and pick the color you want to highlight it with.

One note here, though, it also changes the color of the text.

If that didn’t do it, then creating collapsible sections in Notes did.

All you have to do is format a line of text to ‘Heading.’

As if that weren’t enough, I think my favorite new features are the recording options.

Now you’re free to record, and automatically transcribe, audio into a note.

Even better, you could capture the audio from phone calls and have that transcribed.

As a reporter, being able to record and transcribe a conversation easily is nearly priceless.
