Each Quest and Quest 2 machine includes a set of built-in microphones and speakers.
Quest voice chat has two different levels.
Whenconnecting a Quest to a PC with the link cable, issues can crop up.

Wait for your headset to reboot, and check to see if the microphone works.
SelectDevicefrom the left panel.
Use yourright thumbstickto scroll the right panel until you reach theMute Microphonesetting.

SelectMute Microphoneto switch the toggle.
When the disable microphone toggle is blue, nobody will be able to hear you.
If you want people to hear you, check that the toggle is gray.

When the microphone icon is blue, nobody will be able to hear you.
In some multiplayer games, you get paired with people.
For example, heres how to mute and unmute yourself in VR Chat:
Open theShortcut menu.

Look for theActive call barbelow at the bottom of the universal menu.
Select thered phone iconto leave the party.
In-game voice chat should work now.

Right-click thespeaker iconin the system tray on your PC.
In theInputsection, click theChoose your input devicedrop-down menu.
Otherwise, sound from your Quest may be output through your PC speakers.
