Why Use the Google Dictionary Chrome Extension?
You don’t even have to open a new surfing app tab to navigate to an online dictionary.

How to roll out the Google Dictionary Chrome Extension
Open Chrome and navigate to theChrome Web Store.
Search for “Google Dictionary” or followthis link to navigate directly to the listing.
Chrome may ask you to confirm you want to add the extension.

A pop-up box will appear in the top right of your web app confirming the installation was successful.
You should now see a small red dictionary icon.
If not, select thepuzzle icon(Extensions), then select thePin iconnext to the Google Dictionary listing.

In Chrome, navigate to any web page with highlightable text on it.
Double-click any word you want to look up.
A bubble will appear directly above the word with a short definition.

The word must be highlightable.
It cannot be an image of a word or a word within a hyperlink.
SelectXin the top-right of the bubble to end the definition.

If you want to see more details about its definition, selectMorein the bottom-right.
In Chrome, navigate to any web page with text on it.
Locate a word you want to look up.

Highlight the word, then pressCmd+C(Mac) orCtrl+C(PC) to copy it.

A search tab will appear.

Select any synonym to look up its definition.
Select thethree vertical dotsin the top right of your Chrome net surf tool.

Hover your cursor overMore Tools, then selectExtensions.
Locate the Google Dictionary extension and selectDetails.
Scroll down and selectExtension options.

SelectStore words I look up, including definitions.
This may be because you’re using a web-based tool or program that’s incompatible with the extension.
For instance, if you double-click a word in aGoogle Docsdocument, the bubble will not pop up.
