After Remote Desktop is enabled, verify that your user account has permission to jump into the computer.
Enable Remote Desktop on Windows 10
PressWin+Xthen selectSettingsto open Windows prefs.
In the list on the left side of the Windows parameters window, select theRemoteDesktopoption.

You may need to scroll down the list to find theRemoteDesktopoption.
On the right side of the Windows prefs window, ensure that theEnableRemoteDesktoptoggle is set toOnby clicking on it.
When asked toEnableRemoteDesktop, selectConfirm.

The pop-up window provides a list of the users on the current PC who authorized to useRemoteDesktop.
Directly above theAddandRemovebuttons, it will note any allowed Microsoft account that also has access.
Your account is now authorized to use Remote Desktop on this computer.

Otherwise, you may shut the window with theCancelbutton.
Connecting From Another Windows PC
PressWinthen typeRemote Desktop Connection.
In the Remote Desktop Connectionwindow, throw in your rig’s IP address into theComputerfield.

If prompted for your username and password, enter it in the dialog box.
Connecting From a Mac
Download the Microsoft Remote Desktop 10application from the Mac App Store.
In theAdd Desktopwindow, bang out your machine’sIP addressinto thePC namefield.

Doubleclickyour newly created remote computer in the Microsoft Remote Desktop window.
If prompted for yourusernameandpassword, enter it in thedialog box.
Download for:
launch the Microsoft Remote Desktop tool on your gear.

Select theplusbutton in the upper right corner.
Select theDesktopoption in theAddNewmenu.
jot down your gear’sIP addressinto thePC namefield.

Tap your newly created remote computer in the Microsoft Remote Desktop software.
If prompted for yourusernameandpassword, enter it in the dialog.
