It includes information on how to manage or disable Giphy and how to search for GIFs.

This information applies to the web version of Slack and the desktop versions forWindowsandMac.

Here’s how to add Giphy to Slack to share GIFs with colleagues.

Select Apps in the top-left corner of Slack.

Anyone can send GIFs after the Giphy app is added to your workspace.

To enable Giphy in Slack:

SelectAppsin the top-left corner of Slack.

Typegiphyin the search bar, then selectAddunderGiphywhen it shows up.

Type giphy in the search bar, then select Add under Giphy when it shows up.

The Giphy app page will open in your defaultweb online window.

SelectAdd Giphy Integrationon the next page.

Configure the Giphy tweaks, then selectSave Integration.

Select Add to Slack on the Giphy app page.

For example:

Enter/giphy hello.

A random GIF will appear in the conversation window.

SelectSendorShuffleto get another random GIF.

Select Add Giphy Integration on the next page.

Other users won’t see your GIF until you selectSend.

To change Giphy controls in Slack:

Select your workspace name in the top-left corner of Slack.

SelectSettings & administration>Manage apps.

Configure the Giphy settings, select Save Integration.

The Slack app configuration page will open in your web web client.

Change the app options to your liking, then selectSave Integration.

opt for GIF you want to use.

Enter /giphy hello.

Copy theURLin theShort Link.

Paste the link into a Slack chat box and pressEnterorReturn.

The GIF will be displayed for everyone to see.

Select Send or Shuffle to get another random GIF.

Just go to the app options page for Giphy and selectDisableorRemove.

Others will still be able to see it, but it will no longer be distracting to you.

Select your workspace name in the top-left corner of Slack.

Select Settings & administration > Manage apps.

Select Giphy on the Slack app configuration page.

Change the app settings to your liking, then select Save Integration.

Go to Giphy.com and enter a keyword or phrase in the search bar.

Select the GIF you want to use.

Select Copy link.

Copy the URL in the Short Link.

Paste the link into a Slack chat box and press Enter or Return.

Go to the app settings page for Giphy and select Disable or Remove.
