Remove the wrapping from your AirTag and pull out the tab to activate the battery.
Your AirTag will play a sound if its ready to set up.
If you dont hear a sound, see to it the battery tag was fully removed.

Hold your AirTag close to your iPhone or iPad.
See a message that more than one AirTag was detected?
Move your other AirTags away from your phone so only one is close to your phone at a time.

Select anitem namefrom the provided list, or selectCustom Nameif you dont see a name you want to use.
TapContinueagain to register the AirTag with your Apple ID/Apple Account.
In some versions of iOS and iPadOs, this option is called “Apple ID.”

Wait for the setup process to finish, then tapDone.
Repeat this process if you have additional AirTags.
Heres how to find your AirTags with an older iPhone:
Open theFind Myapp on your iPhone.

Tap themissing itemon the map for more information.
TapDirections, then go to the location indicated on the map.
Once you arrive at the last known location, open Find My and tap themissing itemon the map again.
If your AirTag is within Bluetooth range, it will play a tone.
it’s possible for you to also tapStop Soundif you find the item while the sound is still active.
The catch is a lot of iPhones dont include the U1 chip.
You cant access all the functionality.
No iPads have it, either.
