to verify its on and connected.
Verify the ring light turns red, or the mute button turns red.
Wait for the Echo Dot to update.
If the Dot is already fully updated, it wont update.

Scroll down to the About section, and look at theDevice software version.
Navigate to theAlexa equipment Software Versions site, and check thelatest software versionfor your Echo Dot.
If your Echo Dot has an older version installed, it needs an update.
Tap your Wi-Fi internet, then tapChangenext toWi-Fi internet.
There could be a few reasonswhy your Echo gear appears offline.
There could an issue with your Wi-Fi, or your Echo may be too far from the router.
You may also need to update the Alexa app on your phone.
