Wait a few seconds and then press the power button again to reboot.
If you’re using an external mouse, try a different USB port.
Or at the least, unplug and then reattach the mouse to refresh its connection with the laptop.
Delete any recently installed apps, and then reboot your machine.
If the mouse doesn’t work after this step, feel free to reinstall the program again.

Launch this assistant from the Start menu, and use theFixes & Diagnosticspage to check for any driver updates.
This program should be included on your system, but if not you might install it through that link.
Another way to install drivers is with afree driver updater tool.
Open HP Support Assistant, and go toFixes & Diagnostics>Run hardware diagnosticsto check for hardware issues.
Boot into Safe Modeto see if the mouse works there.

Tochange mouse sensitivityin Windows 10, go toSettings>Mouseand change the cursor or scroll speeds.
Then, selectAdditional Mouse Optionsto change the double-click speed if desired.
Go toSettings>Devices>Mouse & Touchpad>Additional Mouse Options.
Then, select theDevice Settingstab >tweaks>Pinch Zoom> clear theEnable Pinch Zoombox.
