On macOS 13 and newer, go into Notification Center, click Focus, and choose how long.
I will also show you where you’re able to control notifications on a per-app basis.
You’ll now see Focus is on and Do Not Disturb’s icon is highlighted.

choose the Control Center icon twice to dismiss it or just choose the desktop.
To reenable notifications, just follow the same steps as above.
ClickDo Not Disturbin the left pane if it isn’t already selected.

Notifications will be suppressed during your chosen time period each day.
The notifications will be collected in the notification center and displayed whenever you wake up or unlock your display.
It’s also a bit more professional to avoid cluttering the display with notifications when presenting.

Suppose you want to receive most notifications but a handful of apps that are annoying you.
In that case, disabling notifications from those specific apps while leaving everything else alone is easy.
In theApple Menu, selectSystem tweaks…
SelectNotifications.

Swipe down to find the App you are looking for.
We’ll use the Discord as our example.
At the very top,turn the switch to off to turn off notificationsfrom Discord.

you’re free to select which method of notification you wish to get below that switch.
launch the Notifications setting menu by clicking theApple menuicon and then navigating toSystem Preferences>Notifications.
Click anappto access its notifications prefs.

tap the slider next toAllow Notifications from (App).
That app will be prevented from sending notifications until you tap the slider again.
Here’s how to immediately turn off all notifications:
Press and hold theOption key.

Click theNotification Centericon in the top right of the menu bar.
The icon will turn gray, and your notifications will pause.
To turn notifications back on, press and hold theOption keyand click theNotification Centericon again.
