These directions work for Windows 11 and Windows 10 computers.
On Windows 10, go toStart>tweaks>Update & Security>Find my machine.
On Windows 11, press theFind my devicetoggle to switch it on.

On Windows 10, selectChangeand then turn on the toggle calledSave my equipment’s location periodically.
Find My machine only works if locations services are enabled.
To check on Windows 11, go toSettings>Privacy & security>Location.

Switch theLocation servicestoggle on.
On Windows 10, go toSettings>Privacy>Location.
SelectChangeand switch the toggle on forLocation access for this equipment.

you could locate a rig only if you have an administrator account on it.
Open a net online gate on any other computer and follow the steps below.
Go to theMicrosoft Account | Devicespage and sign in with your Microsoft credentials.

SelectFind my deviceat the top of the page.
A notification will pop up on the laptop that says an administrator is trying to locate the machine.
The computer must be powered on and connected to the internet to get an accurate fix on its location.

Tip:
Its best to give unique names to the multiple Windows devices you own.
A unique name makes it easier to pinpoint the gear through your Microsoft account.
You canchange your box’s namein parameters.

Revisit the steps above, but chooseLockfor Step 3.
You’re also given an opportunity to display a message on the lost computer’s screen.
Write something if you wish, then pressLock.
Microsoft will email the linked account.
The map on the Find My machine page will also indicate that your Windows machine is now locked.
