How to Take a Screenshot on Xbox One

This feature only works while playing a game.

It is also disabled for streaming.

When the screen overlay appears, press theYbutton.

You will see a message informing you that your screenshot has been saved.

The screen overlay will disappear, allowing you to return to your game.

If you’d like to capture the last 30 seconds of gameplay as a video, press theXbutton instead.

How to Share a Screenshot on Xbox One

Navigate to theBroadcast and Capturetab.

Select a video or image to share.

SelectOneDriveto upload the video or image to the OneDrive account associated with your Gamertag.

SelectXto share an image directly to X.

If your television hashigh dynamic range(HDR) enabled, your captures will also reflect the improved contrast.

To capture media in 4K you have to change your Xbox One capture tweaks:

Navigate toSystem>tweaks.

SelectPreferences>Broadcast & Capture>Game clip resolution.

Select one of the 4K options.

This will dramatically increase the file size of screenshots and video clips.

One way to do this is by uploading content to OneDrive and then downloading it to a computer.

Alternatively, you could use the Xbox app.

Launch the Xbox app and selectGame DVR.

grab the screenshots or videos you’d like to save.

snag the screenshots or videos you want to view.

This will kick off the folder on your gear where the media has been saved.

Now you’ve got the option to share it to any social media platform you like.
