The easiest way is to pressWIN+i.
SelectInstalled appson the right.
Locate the app from the list by searching for it or scrolling manually.

Press thethree-dotsnext to the app, followed byAdvanced options.
Scroll down toBackground apps permissions, and selectNeverfrom the drop-down menu.
The default option isPower optimized (recommended).

From the left pane, navigate toComputer Configuration>Administrative Templates>Windows Components>App Privacy.
On the right, double-clickLet Windows apps run in the background.
Below that, in theOptionsarea, change theDefault for all appsoption toForce deny.

An alternative way to shut off all background apps is to add a new registry value to theWindows Registry.
This is just another way to edit the Group Policy setting described above.
Open theAppPrivacykey from the left pane.

If you don’t see it, right-click theWindowskey and go toNew>Key.
Name itAppPrivacy, and then pressEnter.
Double-clickLetAppsRunInBackgroundfrom the right pane.

Double-clickLetAppsRunInBackgroundto open its properties, and edit theValue datafield to2.
PressOKto save, thenreboot your computerfor the change to take effect.
