Quitting all games and apps can be a great way to speed up downloads on an Xbox One.

This can quickly be done with the following steps:

Highlight the app or game’siconon the Home screen.

Press theMenubutton on the Xbox controller.

If theQuitoption doesn’t appear when selecting a game, that means that it’s already been closed.

However, you could pause other downloads so that your preferred game or app downloads first all by itself.

Press theXbox logo buttonon your controller to bring up the Guide.

Press down on the D-pad or joystick once to highlightMy games & apps.

Scroll down the left menu toQueue.

You should see all of your active downloads.

If this section is empty, that simply means that you currently have no active downloads.

Highlight the download you want to pause and press theMenubutton on your controller.

Press the Xbox logo button on your controller to activate the Guide.

Press right on the D-pad or joystick three times to navigate to theSystempane.

Your Xbox One restarts and the download should continue as normal.

The fastest and easiest way to fix general internet problems like this is toreboot your router.

This resets your connection to your provider and hopefully gives you a new one that’s faster.

From the Home screen, go toMy games & apps>Queue.

Highlight the download, press theMenubutton on your controller, and then selectPauseinstallationorCancel.

For online gaming, agood download speedis at least 40-100 Mbps.

For 4K streaming, you’ll want 200 Mbps or higher.
