Apple gives you several ways to regain control over these by silencing them.
Locate the physical switch above the volume buttons on the left side of your iPhone.
Move the switch downward until the orange marker is visible to activate silent mode on the iPhone.
Flip the switch back to take it out of silent mode.
Newer iPhones have anaction buttonthat can do a lot of things, including turning on Silent Mode.
In theSettingsapp, go toAction Button.
To turn on Silent Mode, press and hold the action button.
TapDo Not Disturb(with the icon of a crescent moon) to turn the feature on or off.
Note:
You canconfigure Do Not Disturbto allow calls and notifications from selected people and apps.
Go toSettings>Focus.
snag the Focus you want to configure, such asDo Not Disturb,Personal,Sleep, orWork.
UnderSilence Notifications, choose which people and apps are allowed to get through when this Focus is enabled.
For both, you’re free to choose which people or apps to silence notifications from or allow.
On the iPhone, you’re free to selectively mute and unmute apps.
Open theSettingsapp on your iPhone.
Scroll down and tap onNotifications.
In theNotification Stylesection, find and tap the app for which you want to disable notifications.
On the app’s notification controls screen, toggle off theAllow Notificationsoption at the top.

In theSettingsapp, selectNotifications.
Set the sound toNone.
You have two options for doing this.
In the Messages app, kick off the conversation with the person you want to silence.
Tap their profile picture at the top of the screen.
Toggle on the switch forHide Alerts.
Silence Notifications for iOS Apps Temporarily
you could also temporarily mute notifications for a specific app.
Locate a notification from the app you want to mute, and then swipe left on it.
SelectMute for 1 HourorTodaybased on your preference.
Airplane Modeis the ultimate way to disable all wireless communication and thus silencing all notifications.
It also blocks all calls and messages until re-enabled.
