To add Gmail as a push Exchange account to iPhone Mail:
TapSettingson the iPhone Home screen.
SelectMicrosoftExchangefrom the options presented.
type your Gmail address in theEmail field.
Optionally, add a description in the field provided.
In the next window, select eitherSign InorConfigure Manuallyand follow the prompts.
Enter the information requested on the screen to set up your Exchange account, and then tapNext.
TapFetch New Data, and slidePushto the on (green) position.
Confirm that the Exchange account saysPushorFetchnext to it.
It will be assigned a separate inbox.
SelectGooglefrom the options presented.
You may see a message that parameters wants to use Google.com to sign in.
Enter yourGmail address(or phone number) in the field provided.
Tap an account to continue.
Enter yourGmail passwordin the field provided.
SlideMailto the on position (green).
Indicate whichGmail foldersyou want to push to iPhone Mail (Contacts, Calendars, and Notes are options).
Return to theAccounts & Passwordsscreen and tapFetch New Data.
TapPushto turn it to the on position (green).
Confirm that the Gmail account saysPushorFetchnext to it.
iOS versions earlier than iOS 11 didn’t have theAutomaticallyoption.
You had to select from the other options, the shortest of which wasEvery 15 Minutes.
The official Gmail app supplies real-time notifications and offers multiple account support.
