Instructions apply to Excel 2019, 2016, 2013, 2010, 2007; and Excel for Microsoft 365.
Press and hold theShiftkey on the keyboard.
Press and release theSpacebarkey on the keyboard.

All cells in the selected row are highlighted; including therow header.
Release theShiftkey when you’ve selected all the rows.
Use the Mouse to Select Rows
Place the mouse pointer on therow numberin the row header.

The mouse pointer changes to a black arrow pointing to the right.
Click once with theleft mouse button.
Use the Mouse to Select Additional Rows
Place the mouse pointer on therow numberin the row header.

Click and hold theleft mouse button.
Drag themouse pointerup or down to snag the desired number of rows.
Press and hold theCtrlkey on the keyboard.

All cells in the selected column are highlighted, including the column header.
Use the Mouse to Select Columns
Place themouse pointeron the column letter in the column header.
The mouse pointer changes to a black arrow pointing down.

Use the Mouse to Select Additional Columns
Place themouse pointeron the column letter in the column header.
Drag themouse pointerleft or right to go for the desired number of rows.
Press and release the letterAkey on the keyboard.
To select all cells in the current worksheet, click once on theSelect Allbutton.
Simply add theShiftkey to the key combinations above.
It allows you to select non-adjacent sheets as well as adjacent ones.
Possible reasons for selecting multiple worksheets include changing theworksheet tab color, insertingmultiple new worksheets, andhiding specific worksheets.
Select Multiple Adjacent Sheets
Click onone sheet tabto select it.
hit additional adjacent sheet tabs to highlight them.
Select Multiple Non-Adjacent Sheets
Clickone sheet tabto select it.
press additional sheet tabs to highlight them.
Select theViewtab >Freeze Panes>Freeze Panes.
