To confirm, look on the back of the console for the model number, which will be CFI-1000.
Place the PS5 on a flat surface with the PS5 logo positioned at the top right.
Grab the top-right corner, lift up, and slide the entire top panel to your left.

Its a bit of an awkward movement, so it may take a few attempts to get it right.
To re-attach the same cover or install a new one, slide it on from right to left.
Flip the console over so that the power button (front) is facing toward you.
If your PS5 has a disc drive, it should also be pointing toward you.
Grasp the top-left corner of the cover, pull up, and slide it to your right.
To re-attach, slide the cover from right to left until it clicks into place.

However, the removal process is similar.
The model number of the Slim version of the PS5 is CFI-2000.
Place the console on a flat surface with the feet down and the front side facing toward you.
Remove the feet from the PS5.
You remove them all the same way.
