What to Know

This article explains how to set up SpamAssassin to always allow certain senders.

You might see the term safelist still written as the archaic term whitelist in some apps and code.

To safelist individual addresses or domains in SpamAssassin:

Open /etc/mail/spamassassin/local.cfin your favorite editor for system-wide safelisting.

To safelist only for yourself, open~/.spamassassin/user_prefs.

Both the olderAWL(AutoWhitelist) and the improvedTxRepplug-ins will monitor sending email addresses over time.

The sender will essentially be safelisted.

Open /etc/mail/spamassassin/local.cfin your favorite editor for system-wide safelisting.

Add or edit thetxrep_whitelist_outentry to a value from 0 to 200.

The default value for txrep_whitelist_out is10.
