You canuse SmartThings Findto reset access to your equipment.

The downside to this method is that it only works if you alreadyset up the remote controls feature.

Unlock Phone option

Open SmartThings Findand sign in.

Select your rig and chooseUnlock.

The screen lock information on your gadget is deleted.

Erase Device option on Google’s Find My Device site

This could be the pattern, PIN, password, or biometrics that you originally set up.

The catch here is that this method only works onrooted Android phones.

This advanced feature edits the database on your phone that stores the lock screen PIN.

If you’re unfamiliar with rooting or are uncomfortable working with this tool, skip this option.

Enter the following commands one line at a time, pressingEnterafter each one to submit them.

Reboot your phoneand the lock screen will be reset.

The downside to this is huge: you’ll lose all your apps and other files.

You won’t have tobuy a new phoneor tablet.

Choose the gear you’re locked out of.

SelectErase Devicein the left panel.

Confirm your Google password if asked.

Read the warnings (and thenre-readthem to be sure!).

When you’re ready, selectErase gear.

Once you’ve erased your phone or tablet, it reboots automatically.

Enter the incorrect pattern a few times and you’ll seeForgot pattern.

Select that, then sign in to your Google account to reset the lock screen pattern.

Press and hold thePower button, wait for the menu to appear, then selectPower off.

When theReboot to safe modewindow appears, confirm by selectingOK.

Once in Safe Mode, delete the third-party lock screen app to remove lock screen options.

From there you’re free to reinstall the lock screen app and set a new password.

OpenSettingsand selectApps>Google Play Store>Storage.

SelectClear datato reset the Play Store app and remove Parental Controls.
