Generally, however, a soft reset only loses any unsaved data on your phone.
To perform a soft reset on an LG phone, you have two options.
First, hold down thePowerkey and thePower menuopens.

PressRestartand the phone does a soft reset.
This forces the phone to restart as if you’d pushed the Restart button.
Older LG phones may use theVolume Upbutton instead of the Volume Down button for these operations.

Check your user manual to confirm which button is used.
To perform a hard reset:
Turn off your phone.
If possible, remove and reinsert your battery.

Without turning on your phone, press and hold thePowerandVolume Downbuttons to initiate a soft reset.
When you see the LG logo, release and then press and hold thePowerandVolume Downbuttons again.
Release the buttons when theFactory Resetmenu appears.
Use the volume keys to navigate to theYesbutton and press thePowerbutton to snag the button.
You will be asked again if you want to perform a hard reset.
Repeat the button presses above to confirm, and your phone will hard reset.
This is generally done to remove personal information from it when you’re selling or donating the phone.
To perform a factory reset:
These instructions apply to Android 11 and higher.
Open theSettingsapp and go toSystem>Advanced>Reset Options.
ChooseErase all data (factory reset).
PressErase all dataand follow any further instructions to restore your phone to factory tweaks.
