Pull down the window shade from the top of the screen and selectSettings.

SelectAdvanced features, thenBixby key.

Tap one of the options, eitherSingle press to open BixbyorDouble press to open Bixby.

Depending on the option you picked above, you’ll see another option appear that you better select.

For example,Use single press.

On the page for the option you selected, choose the bubble to the right ofOpen app.

Once you’ve selected the app, you’ll return to the previous screen.

To change the app, tap theSettingsicon.

To do this, instead of selectingOpen appin the directions above, chooseRun quick command.

Select an existing command, or tapGo to Quick commandsto find more.

To change the quick command, return to this screen and tap theSettingsicon.

There are several options, but for this demonstration, we’ll use Bixby Assistant Remapper.

Setting up Bixby Button Assistant

Download the Bixby Button Assistant Remapper APKon your phone.

You might receive a security warning.

ChooseContinueorAllowto continue with the download.

Checking the version of Bixby in Samsung OS

You must allow installation fromUnknown Sourcestoinstall an APK file.

The app does not request any special permissions, so choosingAllow from this sourcewhen prompted is safe.

Once the installation is complete, go toSettings>Advanced Features>Bixby Keyand selectDouble press to open Bixby.

Find and selectBixby Button Assistant Remapper, then close tweaks.

Press theBixby keyone time.

Then, in the selection screen that appears, choose the voice assistant you want to use and selectAlways.

Now, when you want to use your alternative virtual assistant, press the Bixby key one time.

You cannot completely turn off the button or prevent it from calling up Bixby.

However, you’ve got the option to change the way it behaves.

Go toSettings>Apps>Bixby Voiceand scroll to the bottom to view the version.
