The easiest way to record audio on the iPad is to use theVoice Memosapp.

Voice Memos makes it exceedingly easy for you to record audio.

initiate the app and confirm your iPad is close to the sound source you want to capture.

Tap thePauseiconto pause the recording andResumeto continue recording.

Use the play controls to listen, move forward or backward in the recording.

Voice Memos allows you to do a few things to the recording after you finish recording it.

TapEditat the top of the recording area.

Tap theCrop iconat the top of the Edit screen.

TapTrimat the bottom of the screen.

jot down a replacement name.

Here’s how to record audio usingPages, Numbers, or Keynote.

Open aKeynotedocument, for example.

Tap the+icon, which is located in the top right corner of the screen.

TapRecord Audioin the drop-down menu.

(In the Numbers app, tap thePhotosicon first; then chooseRecord Audio).

Tap theRecordbutton at the bottom of the screen and begin recording.

Press theStopicon when you finish recording.

TapInsertin the top-right corner to add a recording icon to your document.
