Draw the path for the text.

When thePropertiespalette opens after you release the mouse button, set theFillcolor toNoneand theStrokeColortoBlack.

Select theText tool,and then nudge the path where you want to start typing.

you could enter text above or below the path.

Set the text toAlign Left, and then input your text.

Adjust the font, size, and color of your text in the tool options bar.

The text will be cut off if you move it outside of the visible area.

To fix this, hit the small circle and drag it farther along the path.

To move the text above the path, adjust theBaseline Shiftin theCharacterpalette.

If theCharacterpalette isn’t visible, selectWindows>Characterto open it.

To remove the path you drew, select it with thePath Selectiontooland pressDeleteon your keyboard.

you might also move the whole path with key in attached using either tool.

Use theDirect Selection toolto change the shape of the path.

All of the key in tools work with key in on a path or key in in a shape.

Select the path with the Move tool or the Path Selection tool and press Delete on your keyboard.
