In some versions of PowerPoint it might be calledOpen.
Go toSlide Showand selectFrom Current Slidein the Start Slide Show group to animate the GIF.
When you play the presentation, the GIF is animated automatically.

SelectPicturesand choosePicture from File.
Navigate to the location of the GIF file on your rig, choose the file, and selectInsert.
Go toSlide Showand selectPlay from Current Slideto view the animation.
Sign in to yourMicrosoft account onlineand go to PowerPoint.
Go to the slide where you want to add a GIF.
Go toInsert>Pictures>This gadget.
The Insert Picture dialog box opens.

Narrow your options by adding a keyword, such asanimated duckorbusiness gif.
snag the GIF you want to use and selectInsertto add it to the slide.
