Click theGear(configs) icon in the upper-right corner from any screen in Gmail.
ClickSee allsettingsin the menu that appears.
tap the radio button next toOffto hide your online status and chat availability.
When Gmail reloads, the chat window is no longer be visible.
poke the arrow next to your name in the chat panel.
In the next menu, click theMute Notifications for…drop-down menu.
grab the amount of time you’d like to mute notifications.
ClickResumeunder your name to unmute the notifications before the block expires.
Go back into the menu under the arrow next to your name, and then selectCustomize Invite tweaks.
