However, before PayPal works in stores, you have to set up a payment method.
If you have a balance in your account, it will be used first.
If you spend more than you have in PayPal, your preferred payment method will be used.
Here’s how to set up in-store payments:
Open thePayments area of your PayPal account.
If you’re not logged in, you’ll be asked to now.
If you’re in the app, tap thethree-lined menuat the top and selectIn person & QR code.
Scroll down to theIn-store purchasessection.
To do this from the app, go toPayment preference, then tap the link belowPayment method.
Select one of your payment methods.
Don’t want to spend your PayPal balance in stores?
Toggle that option off from this screen.
SelectConfirmon the website, orDonein the app.
You don’t need to initiate the Google Pay or PayPal app.
input your PIN if prompted.
Here’s how to get PayPal to work with Google Pay:
initiate the Google Pay app.
It’s available on Android and iOS.
Select theInsightstab at the bottom.
SelectManage accounts>Link account.
PressAccept, and thenContinuewhen Plaid opens.
put in your phone number and confirm it with the security code to sign on to Plaid.

Continue setup by logging in to PayPal through Plaid.

PayPal Debit Card
Another option is to apply for aPayPal Cashback Mastercard.
This debit card is accepted in stores, restaurants, and anywhere else Mastercard is accepted.
