Running out of space?

Open Music and selectMusic>Preferences.

Earlier versions of iTunes require you to selectiTunes>PreferencesorEdit>Preferences.

These apps serve the same function as iTunes.

On older versions of iTunes, select theAdvancedtab.

check that theKeep Music Media folder organizedoption is enabled.

If it’s already checked, skip to the next step.

SelectChangeto change the media folder location.

The folder that opens is where your songs (or podcasts, video, etc.)

it’s possible for you to change this destination to any location you like.

To put your media in a new folder that doesn’t yet exist, selectNew Folder.

snag the folder for where you’d like to store media and then selectOK.

In the Music menu bar, selectFile > Library > Organize Library.

Older versions of iTunes may list theOrganize Libraryoption as “Consolidate Library.”

If not, try looking for it under theAdvancedtab in the Preferences window.

go for the check box next toConsolidate filesand selectOK.

In older versions of iTunes you may need to selectConsolidate.

To be sure, launch the folder you chose in Step 4 to look for the transferred media.

You should see a folder labeledMusic.

The default location for Windows users isC:\Users[username]\Music\iTunes\iTunes Media.

It’s a good idea keep anyXMLorITLfiles in case you need them in the future.

These instructions apply to systems running macOS Catalina (10.15) and later.
