In contrast,POPdownloads messages to the phone and leaves a copy on the server.
Here’s how to change those parameters in the internet tool version of Gmail.
On a desktop computer or laptop, open a webbrowserand go to Gmail.

SelectSettings(the gear icon in the upper-right corner of the page).
Select theForwarding and POP/IMAPtab, oruse this linkif it’s possible for you to’t find it.
In thePOP downloadsection, select theWhen messages are accessed with POPdrop-down menu.

Choose one of these options:
SelectSave Changes.
Emails on the server will now behave in the way you specified in Step 6.
This is unlike IMAP, which controls the server emails from the machine.

The messages are kept on your phone and on the server until you delete them.
