This button was not part of Windows 7.
To hide it, right-press the taskbar and selectShow Task Viewbuttonto wipe the check mark.
Download theWindows 7 Start Button iconsfrom the Classic Shell forums.

When the download is complete, extract theStart Buttons.zipfile into a separate folder.
Download and installClassic Shell, available in several languages.
Classic Shell launches automatically, and theStart Menu Stylesection displays.

If not, manually kick off the app and go to theStart Menu Styletab.
Select theReplace Startbuttoncheck box.
ChooseCustom, then selectPick image.

InWindows Explorer, navigate to theStart Buttonsfolder, and select theWindowsStartButton mediumfile.
You’re returned to the Classic Shell interface, with the Windows 7 Start Buttondisplayed underCustom.
Select theSkindrop-down menu and chooseWindows Aero.

Your new Start Menu and skin options are applied immediately.
Download theWindows 7 background image, compressed as a ZIP file namedimg0.zip.
Locate the downloaded file and extract it into a separate folder.

Right-click a blank space on the Windows 10 desktop.
In the pop-out menu, selectPersonalize.
InWindows prefs, go to the left menu pane and chooseBackground, then select theBackgrounddrop-down menu and choosePicture.

In theChoose your picturesection, selectBrowse.
InWindows Explorer, navigate to the extractedimg0folder, and select theimg0file.
Your desktop wallpaper is replaced by the Windows 7 background.

Take the steps below to lighten things up and better mimic the classic colors.
Right-click any blank space on the Windows 10 desktop.
InWindows parameters, go to the left menu pane and selectColors.

In theWindows colorssection, choose the blue that most closely resembles the Windows 7 default shade.
Your new color scheme is applied.
Download theOldNewExplorer tool, compressed as a RAR file, andextract the fileinto a separate folder.

Navigate to the extractedOldNewExplorerfolder and double-click theOldNewExplorerCfgfile.
TheOldNewExplorer configurationinterface appears, overlaying the Windows desktop.
Go to theShell extensionsection and selectInstall.

When prompted to allow the system to make changes to the operating system, selectYes.
In theBehaviorsection, selectUse classical drive grouping in This PCto activate the feature.
In theAppearancesection, select theUse command bar instead of Ribboncheck box.

SelectClose, located in the lower-right corner of the OldNewExplorer window.
You may need to reboot your PC for the new tweaks to take effect.
