The best way to make a hidden door is to create a locking mechanism using Redstone.
These instructions apply to Minecraft on all platforms.
Place some torches on the walls for light if you need it.

slide in your secret room and turn around to face the exit.
Place 2 more Sticky Pistons atop the others to form a 4X4 structure.
double-check the front of the pistons are all facing the same way, perpendicular to the door.

Turn and face away from the door and stack 2 Sticky Pistons next to the others.
Fill the space between the pistons with 2 blocks matching the surrounding landscape.
Place a Redstone Repeater in the center-top block and set it to 2 ticks.

confirm the Repeater faces the direction shown in the picture below, or else it won’t work.
Place Redstone Dust next to the Repeater on the far side of the door.
Place Redstone Dust on the ground three spaces away from the front of the doorway.

Exit the door and go outside.
Do not destroy the block directly above your Redstone Torch.
This block is essential to making your secret door work.

Place a block directly in front of the Redstone Torch, then put Redstone Dust on top of it.
The Redstone Dust should be activated and start glowing.
Step back and place a Sticky Piston directly in front of the block with the activated Redstone Dust.

The piston should automatically activate and push you back.
Place Redstone Dust on the floor next to the space between the piston base and the Redstone block.
To do this, you’ll need to build a stairway.

Once the Redstone Dust circuit is complete, it should look like the picture below.
You should have a continuous trail connected by the Redstone Repeater.
The trail shouldn’t touch the Redstone block because you don’t want it to activate yet.

The Redstone Dust will activate, triggering the door Pistons.
To fire up the door, put the Redstone Torch back where it was again.
To end the door behind you, go inside your room to the opposite side of the Redstone Torch.

Then, break the Redstone Dust that connects the torch and the Sticky Piston.
The Piston will deactivate, and the door will lock.
To unlock the door from the inside, replace the Redstone Dust connecting the torch to the Sticky Piston.

The Piston will activate, pushing the Redstone block away and breaking the circuit.
When you go back outside, break the Redstone Torch to shut the door.
Place a Redstone Torch in this spot whenever you want to access your secret room.

Remember to end the door behind you.
Make a mapwith location markers to help you remember where to find your secret doors.
