This works on Android 7 and later.
This is done through a toggle in the prefs app.
Open theSettingsapp and tapAppsorApps & Notifications.

Tap thethree dotsin the upper-right corner.

TapChrome(or whichever web net web client you use).
Switch the toggle next toAllow from this sourceso it turns on.

Once the APK is downloaded to your gadget, it’s time to roll out the app.

Tap the file name followed byInstall.
APK files can take up loads of space.Delete your downloadswhen you’re finished with them to free up storage.
Doing this will not delete the app.

Using your desktop web surfing app, download the APK file just like described above.
Then, connect to your Android phone and transfer the file.
If you’ve never connected your Android to your gear, firstturn on USB debugging mode.
Your phone will show up as another drive in File Explorer.
If you don’t have a USB cable, another solution is to installWiFi FTP Serverfrom Google Play.
However, this is an advanced option and requires an understanding of how to use FTP files.
Connect your phone via USB and enable USB debugging.
Download Minimal ADB and Fastbooton your rig, and then install it.
execute the tool, and a Command Prompt window opens.
Enter the commandadb devices.
If the tool detects your phone, an ID for the unit appears.
Now you’re ready to transfer the APK file.
Find the downloaded APK file on your rig and themcopy that fileby right-clicking it and choosingCopy.
From File Explorer, navigate to the Minimal ADB and Fastboot folder.
It’s typically located here:
Paste the APK file into that folder.
Rename the APK file to something short so it’s easy to punch in as a command.
