Slowly slide the cover piece off to remove it entirely.

Remove the smaller expansion slot screw along with the metal spacer ring beneath it.
Line the spacer ring up with the expansion slow screw hole that matches the size of your SSD.
You may want to hold the SSD up to the expansion slot to double-check the fit.

confirm to push the SSD firmly into place and that the end lines up with the spacer ring.
Place the cover down and then slide it to the left until it clicks back into place.
Put your PS5 back into its usual place and reconnect all the cables, and then turn it on.

Locate the white expansion port, which has PS symbols on it, and remove the main screw.
Lift off the cover.
Remove the inner screw and spacer ring.

Replace the inner screw.
Put the expansion slot cover back on and secure it with the larger screw.
Reattach the PS5 cover by first lining up the hooks towards the back side with their correct openings.

When you think its in there solidly, wrap up the PS5 back up and plug everything back in.
