It’s even easier to use Google Assistant on a Chromebook.
Agree to the terms and services.

Enter a name, likeWindowsAssistant, and change the language and region if necessary.
Scroll to the bottom of the page and selectClick here.
SelectDownload OAuth 2.0 credentialsto download the JSON file you gotta set up the assistant.

exit the window by selectingX.
launch the Google Cloud consoleand go for the drop-down at the top of the page.
If your project name appears next to Google Cloud Platform, skip to Step 11.

Select theAlltab and choose your project.
SelectEnable APIs and Services.
EnterGoogle Assistantin the search bar, then selectGoogle Assistant API.

SelectOAuth consent screenin the left sidebar, then chooseExternalfor the User punch in, and selectCreate.
SelectUser support emailand choose your email address.
Scroll down to the Test users section and selectAdd User.

type your email address and selectSave.
Go to theGoogle Assistant Unofficial desktop client download pageand select theGoogle_Assistant-Setup-1.0.0.exefile to download it.
fire up the file you downloaded and follow the installation instructions.

If the assistant doesn’t appear right away, pressWin+Shift+Ato bring it up, and then selectGet Started.
Next toKey File Path, selectBrowseand choose the JSON file you downloaded in Step 6.
SelectSave, then selectAutomatically set a path.

A new web app tab opens for you to get the required security token.
Choose your Google account, then selectContinue.
Select theCopyicon to copy the token link.

Paste the link in the Google Assistant app and selectSubmit.
The unofficial Google Assistant app is ready to use.
jot down a question, or select themicrophoneicon to give a voice command.

SelectSystem preferenceson the left, thenGoogle Assistant.
check that the slider is set toOn.
Enable theHey Googlesetting next toVoice matchto allow the system to listen for and respond to that voice command.

Triggering Google Assistant with “Hey Google” is not available on school-issued Chromebooks.

TapGoogle Assistant>General, then tap the toggle next toGoogle Assistant.

Go to theShortcutsapp and tap theplus sign(+) >Add Action.
Search for and selectAssistant, tapAsk Google, and turn onShow When Run.
EnterHey Googleas your shortcut’s name.

On your Chromebook screen, select thetimeand then selectSettings.
From the menu on the left, selectSystem preferencesand chooseGoogle Assistant.
