Check your third-party antivirus software.

If you have one installed, examine its options to confirm the camera isn’t blocked.

Alternatively, try temporarily turning off the antivirus app to see if the problem is fixed.

Open equipment Managerand check theSystem devicescategory for arrows and other symbols that could indicate a problem.

You canenable a equipment in equipment Managerby right-clicking it and choosingEnable equipment.

Turn off and re-turn on the rig.

If the camera was not turned off in machine Manager, right-clickMicrosoft Camera FrontorMicrosoft Camera Rearand chooseDisable machine.

Then, right-poke the camera again and selectEnable machine.

This effectively reboots the camera and may clear up any lingering conflicts.

Uninstall and reinstall the gadget.

Still in machine Manager, right-clickMicrosoft Camera FrontorMicrosoft Camera Rearand then selectUninstall machine.

To do that, shut down your Surface Pro, then hold down theVolume Upbutton and press thePowerbutton.

Continue holding the Volume Up button until the Surface UEFI appears.

A list of system devices will appear with toggles to enable or turn off each equipment.

Check theFront CameraandRear Cameraare enabled.

If not, use the toggles to enable them.
