These instructions apply to Android 13.
Close all of the open web client windows that you could.
Go to your AndroidSettingsand tapApps.

Scroll down to the web app you were using just before seeing the fake virus warning pop-up.
Tap that app to open its options.
TapForce Stopto force the surfing app utility to stop running.

You may see a warning pop-up that if you force stop the software, it’ll misbehave.
This won’t be a concern in this case.
In the App Info window for your web client, tapStorage & cache.

Take the following steps to prevent this from happening again.
These instructions assume you’re using the mobile Chrome web client.
First,update the Chrome app.

initiate the Play Store app and go to yourProfile icon>Manage apps & unit>Update all.
In the Chrome app, tapMore(the three dots) >options>Site options.
Turn offPop-ups and redirectsso that it saysBlock sites from showing pop-ups and redirects (recommended).

Tap the back button on your phone to return to Site options, then tapAds.
Turn offAdsso that it saysBlock ads on sites that show intrusive or misleading ads.
Tap the back button on your phone to return to Site tweaks, then tapAutomatic downloads.

Turn onAutomatic downloadsso that it saysAsk first.
Removing Android Viruses
If you’ve never rooted your Android, getting a virus is unlikely.
Go into your AndroidSettings, tapApps, and scroll down the list of apps.

Uninstall any apps you don’t recognize or have recently installed.
To uninstall, tap the app and selectUninstall.
Install theMalwarebytes app from Google Play.
Once installed, update the database and run a full system scan on your Android.
If Malwarebytes finds malware, have it clean the virus from your machine.
The most important thing you could do isnottap any button on the website.
If that doesn’t work, factory reset your gear.
