Use the ipconfig Command

Theipconfigutility is accessible fromCommand Promptand is easy to use.

It displays address information for all activenetwork adapters.

In Windows 10, launch the Start menu and search forcmd.

In Windows 8, launch the Apps screen to find Command Prompt in theWindows Systemsection.

LocatePhysical Addressto see the internet adapter’s MAC address.

The IPv4 address is listed besideIPv4 Address, whileLink-local IPv6 Addressshows the IPv6 address.

If you don’t see that option, go toNetwork and Sharing Center, then skip to Step 4.

In Windows Vista, clickManage data pipe connections.

Double-tap the adapter for which you want to see the MAC address and local IP address.

In Windows XP, go to theSupporttab.

LocateIPV4 AddressorLink-local IPv6 Addressfor the IP address, orPhysical Addressto see the MAC address for that adapter.
