The instructions apply to Windows 11 and 10.
This method works with all editions of Windows, including Windows 11 and 10 Home.
Go to Windows search and entercmdin the search field.

Under Command Prompt, selectRun as Administrator.
Typenet user administrator /active:yesand then pressenter.
Typenet user administrator /active:noand then pressenter.

Wait for the process to finish.
The administrator account will no longer appear as an option when you start your setup.
If you do use either of these methods, be very careful.

If you change the wrong setting, you may make it impossible to log into your gear.
Press and hold theWindows key+Rto fire up the Run dialog box.
Typelusrmgr.mscinto the Run dialog box and press enter.
You won’t see this option if you have Windows Home.
Use the command prompt method instead.
Remove the check mark from the box next toAccount is disabled.
reset your setup, and you will have the option to jump in with the admin account.
Press and hold theWindows keyandRto initiate the Run dialog box.
Navigate toHKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE>SOFTWARE>Microsoft>Windows NT>CurrentVersion>Winlogon>SpecialAccounts>UserList.
If you have Windows Home, you cannot navigate to the Windows Registry User List.
Use the command prompt method instead.
SelectNew>DWORD Value.
TypeAdministrator, and pressenter.
FAQ
Tochange the administrator name, use theWin+Rkeyboard shortcut to launch the Run dialog box.
Go toLocal Policies>Security Options> double-clickAccounts: Rename administrator account> enter a new name >OK.
Toreset your password, selectForgot Passwordon your unit’s sign-in screen.
Answer the security questions or perform other verification steps.
