The creator must have a public account and they must have the Duet feature enabled for their posts.
TapDuetfrom the menu at the bottom.

Pick one of the recording options located directly above the record button.

Record your Duet in the same way yourecord a regular video.
When you’re finished recording the Duet, tapNext.
Add a caption if you wish and choose your desired privacy tweaks.
TapPostto send off your TikTok Duet.
Tap the big red circle to record the Duet with sound.
Tap thecheckmark, thedown arrowon the right, and thenVolume.
This is how you make either sound (the original and your own) quieter or louder.
If you edit the volume, chooseDoneto close that box.
TapNextto finalize the video, then tapPost.
you’ve got the option to disable or fire up the Duet function easily from your account prefs.
TapProfileat the bottom right.
Select thethree linesat the top, then chooseSettings and privacyfrom the pop-up menu.
Go toDuet>Allow Duet from, and tapOnly youto turn off Duets for all your posts.
