Use the Registry
You’ll need to perform a basicWindows Registrytweak if Windows 11 isn’t activated.

This is very easy to do even if you’ve never been in the registry.
Using the folders/keys from the left panel, navigate to this location:
Locate theTaskbarDavalue from the right panel.
SelectOKto apply the change instantly.

Disable just the news feed instead.
initiate the widgets board and select theSettingsbutton at the top.
SelectShow or hide feeds.

pick the toggle next toMy Feedand then chooseTurn offto confirm the change.
Disabling the widgets button simply makes it inaccessible from the taskbar.
Right-hit the taskbar and move the toggle to the on position next toAutomatically hide the taskbar in desktop mode.

However, the taskbar will still appear when you place the cursor along the bottom edge of the screen.
