Take great care in making only theregistry keychanges described below.

We highly recommendbacking up the registry keysyou’re modifying in these steps as an extra precaution.

Continue to expand folders until you reach this registry key:

ExpandCurrentVersionand select thePolicieskey located inside of it.

Before moving on with the next step, expand thePolicieskey and see if there’s a subkey there calledExplorer.

It’s unlikely that there is, but if so, skip down to Step 7.

Otherwise, you’re free to continue with Step 5.

After the key is created beneathPolicies, it will initially be namedNew Key #1.

Change the name of the key toExplorerby typing it exactly as shown and then hitting theEnterkey.

Change the name of the DWORD toNoLowDiskSpaceChecksby typing it exactly as shown, and then hitting theEnterkey.

Right-poke the newNoLowDiskSpaceChecksDWORD you just created and chooseModify.

In theValue data:field, replace the zero with the number1.

These can accumulate and, over time, take up quite a bit of precious hard drive space.

Uninstall programs you’re no longer using.

Use afree disk space analyzerorfile search toollikeEverythingto find the files that are taking up the most space.

Use a backup tool to move the files off of the full hard drive.
